London-based Polish photographer and installation artist Elwira Jaglowska centres her work on everyday subjects, whether people or places.
Using the mundane to comment on a society’s past and cultural changes, Jaglowska highlights that which, in her own words, is "hard to articulate ... difficult to understand due to varied cultural, ideological and economical backgrounds."
Five photo collages, a Siberian bench and a book with text and documentary images.
Each of the collages is a life story and a glimpse into the Siberian microclimate and culture.
Separate images combine into montages that create powerful hidden connections, drawing the spectator’s curiosity to find out more about their subjects.
The project was created in association with St. Petersburg & Abakan Museums of Archaeology.
